Internet Statistics.

According to State Committee for Communication there are 230-50 thousands of the active users of Internet. The independent experts consider that the number of users who pay for the access to the web is already 350 thousand. It is also necessary to count those who use Internet free: persons who go into Internet with personal aims from offices: there are 1-1,25 million of such users in Ukraine.

The ISP-activity in Ukraine needs no license. State Committee for Communication reports that there are 260 active service-providers in Ukraine. ? of the providers are in Kiev and Kiev region, 8-12% - in large regional centers: Dnipropetrivsk, Harkiv, Donetsk, Odessa and Lviv. The growth of the number of providers from the beginning of this year is 30%. The Company IP Telecom announced in May that it had 25% of all users in Kiev, that is more then 15 000 persons, 11 000 of which use Ipkey-cards. Some ISP-Companies are founded only for the service of 20-30 enterprises of one of the branches or one of the rayons of city. The provider is considered as large if it has more then 2 000 clients. There is no the certain leader among ISP in Ukraine. The leading ISP-companies in Ukraine are IP Telecom, Lucky Net, Infocom, Global Ukraine, UkrSat.
