Golden Gate
Golf Club - Started in February 2000, this golf
course and resort appears to be the most promising for
the earliest possible opening of an 18 hole golf course.
The golf club is situated in beautiful Koncha Zaspa
region with 3 rivers bordering the land. The full resort
will consist of an 18 hole course, a driving range,
a pitch and put course or an additional 9 hole course,
a putting green, and full resort facilities. The resort
facilities will include a Clubhouse, restaurant, condominium
hotel, bars, a health club, swimming pool, river beach
area, tennis courts, villas, and an outdoor theater.
The course and resort will be built, designed, and managed
by Pro-W (Ukraine) with their affiliates in the USA,
Europe, and Ukraine. Mr. Prochorenko, GM of Pro-W (Ukraine)
advises that the resort will be fully operational in
2001. Only settlement of environmental issues prevented
the opening of part of the facilities in 2000.

Hollywood Trident Network Moves Forward on Several Projects
HOLLYWOOD,U.S.A. The Hollywood Trident Network met at
the Faculty Center of UCLA on Tuesday, December 12th,
2000 to tackle a number of project ideas. The well-attended
dinner meeting reviewed several project proposals and
made several commitments to follow up.
Firstly, the meeting agreed to contact some of the local
television stations to investigate whether it will be
possible to launch a new television program in the English
language in the Los Angeles area dealing with Ukrainian
matters. Andriy Semotiuk agreed to report back in this
regard.
The Network also picked up on previous discussions about
helping film students in Ukraine who need access to
classic Hollywood films that might be supplied to them
through videos purchased here and sent over to them
by our community. The Network will inquire into the
film centers in Ukraine to determine the viability of
undertaking this venture and once that is determined,
Jim Makichuk has agreed to spearhead this effort. We
expect to turn to the community for financial help in
this regard as soon as we can confirm the details in
Ukraine.
A project entailing the creation of a core group for
the Ukrainian Film Institute (Harvard West) project
was also briefly mentioned and it appears that a meeting
on this theme will be held shortly. The Network may
hold a film festival in Los Angeles to raise money with
respect to the institute idea and will hold discussions
with film makers in this regard.
|
The possible importation of a Ukrainian musical group
who sings in English to Hollywood was discussed, but
the conclusion was that more could be done by encouraging
such talent to record a good demo in Ukraine than by
investing heavily in travel and accommodations here
without having for the group.
A brief on the progress of circulating Janchuk's Famine
33 film dubbed into English was also provided. The project
is on going.
The meeting concluded with an agreement that the group
should meet again on Thursday, January 18th, 2001 at
7 p.m. at UCLA. Please mark your diaries and RSVP if
you can attend on that date.
The Hollywood Trident Network was formed at a meeting
in Los Angeles on December 7th, 1999. The operational
agenda of the Hollywood Trident Network is to facilitate
