What is Kyiv's best
club?
Kyiv may not offer the world’s largest or most diverse nightclub scene, but it is quickly changing. It seems that every couple of months a new restaurant, bar or club becomes the focal point for local and ex-pat activity – only to be replaced by some new, more chic establishment. Such is the case, though, with the Post’s latest endeavor to determine the best nightclub in Kyiv. Just last autumn, relative newcomer Promzona led the way in our Readers Poll – praised in part because its “chicks are hot and plentiful. Lots of pool tables. Dirt cheap drinks.” Not this time. Promzona didn’t rate a single vote. Other clubs that had also been rated last year – including River Palace, Storm, Admiral, Caribbean Club and (thankfully, in this case) McDonald’s – also fell by the wayside, forlorn and forgotten. But the club that tied for runner-up last time round is still very much alive and kicking this summer. Al Capone received praise for its low cover charge (Hr 20), Ladies’ Night and Saturday night parties. One reader instead gave the nod to Saigon for the best selection of reasonably priced alcohol, Dynamo Lux for best music and both of them, plus Desperados, for the “best-looking girls.” It was another newcomer to the survey and to the capital in general, however, that claims the title of best nightclub this time around: 111. “The new bar-disco in the Hotel Lybid, 111, has great music, nice barmaids and the most beautiful girls in town,” wrote one aficionado. It’s enough to make your head spin. RESULTS:
2. Al Capone 3. (Tie) Bingo, Brasilia, Night Mask
