Infocom Creates An Enormous Data Center in Ukraine
Infocom launched the first universal data center on Nov.21, reported business magazine "Kompanyon". The company decided to apply the Intel DataCenter concept to create a powerful and convenient system for its customers. The project's cost is estimated around $500,000. An Infocom official claimed that project's goal is to foster the hosting related Internet and business services as well as provide solutions for e-commerce.

The Intel concept allows creating a hosting platform of a second generation in which equipment and software are integrated, tried and served by the company itself. This new service enables companies to cut their expenses in keeping information technology specialists, procuring and adjusting hardware and software etc.

"The number of the Internet users is growing rapidly in Ukraine. We want to be prepared for this increase. It will also ensure our leading position in the Ukrainian market. Our company intends to locate more than 15, 000 sites of the small and medium companies with the FreeBSD and Windows 2000 operation systems" said the Infocom expert. The Ukrainian company E.service, the authorized partner of Intel, provided the solution for this Infocom endeavor.

This is believed to be the first step towards setting up a high quality hosting services for the Ukrainian corporate market.
